The innovations take effect from 20 January 2021 and will only apply to tickets purchased from that date.
How the general rules for the carriage of hand luggage will change
The maximum allowed weight of one piece of hand luggage, the carriage of which is included in the ticket price regardless of the selected fare and does not require additional surcharges, will be increased from 7 to 9 kg. At the same time, the dimensions of this bag/suitcase, as before, should not exceed 55x40x20 cm.
Additional items (laptop, men's/women's bag, outerwear, umbrella, book/magazine/folder for papers, Duty Free goods), which could be taken on board for free, will have to be placed inside the bag/suitcase with carry-on luggage under the new rules. Duty Free goods yet go as an exception, which can be additionally taken on board for free until 31 March 2021 inclusive. Starting from 1 April, for free transportation, they will also need to be packed into a bag/suitcase with hand luggage or a passenger will pay extra $25 for bringing a separate package on board.
For passengers traveling with children, the rules regarding additional children's items that can be taken on board free of charge remain unchanged.
Updated carry-on baggage rules for different fares
For all fare types (Basic, Standard, Flex), the possibility of transporting a second piece of hand luggage will become available: free — for Standard and Flex fares, and for an additional fee — for Basic fare.
Economy Basic fare:
- free piece of hand luggage (up to 9 kg, dimensions — 55x40x20 cm)
- second piece of hand luggage for an additional fee (up to 9 kg, dimensions — 55x40x20 cm). The cost of the second piece of hand luggage for passengers of charter and regular flights will be $12 when booking online in advance or $25 when booking on the day of departure at the airport
Economy Standard fare:
- free piece of hand luggage (up to 9 kg, dimensions — 55x40x20 cm)
- second free piece of hand luggage (up to 5 kg, dimensions — 35x20x10 cm)
Economy Flex fare:
- free piece of hand luggage (up to 9 kg, dimensions — 55x40x20 cm)
- second free piece of hand luggage (up to 9 kg, dimensions — 55x40x20 cm)
Our passengers should ensure carefully to carry hand luggage with tickets purchased before 19 January 2021 inclusively according to the uniform rules for all fares:
- free piece of hand luggage (up to 7 kg, dimensions — 55x40x20 cm)
- free transportation of additional items (laptop, men's/women's bag, outerwear, umbrella, book/magazine/folder for papers, Duty Free goods) with a total weight of up to 3 kg and dimensions of no more than 35x20x10 cm
