Passengers with special needs

If you are a person with disabilities and need additional assistance when boarding/disembarking from the plane, climbing/descending the ladder or moving in the cabin, please e-mail us to [email protected] 48 hours before the departure so that we can prepare and make your flight as comfortable as possible.

We ask all our passengers with special needs to provide a doctor's statement confirming the possibility of air travel.

If you are traveling with your own wheelchair, please note the requirements for its transportation:

• The wheelchair is transported free of charge exclusively in the luggage compartment — we will pick it up at the aircraft ladder and will return it to you after landing;
• A manually operated wheelchair is accepted for carriage without special restrictions;
• If your wheelchair is battery (dry or electrolyte) powered, please make sure that the terminals on the battery are disconnected, the contacts are isolated, and the battery itself is securely attached to the chair, before checking it in.
• If the wheelchair with an electrolyte battery cannot be transported in an upright position (to prevent electrolyte spillage), the battery must be disconnected. In this case, the wheelchair is transported as regular baggage without special restrictions, and a special container must be provided for the battery (liquid-tight and electrolyte-resistant), the battery must be installed vertically and covered with an absorbent material in case of electrolyte spillage.

Important! The battery removed from the mobility aid must not exceed 300Wh, or for mobility aids fitted with two batteries, each battery must not exceed 160 Wh. A passenger may carry a maximum of one spare lithium-ion battery not exceeding 300 Wh or two spare batteries each not exceeding 160 Wh.

If you need an oxygen apparatus while traveling, please notify us at least 48 hours before your scheduled departure to agree the possibility of transporting it on board our aircraft. We will ask you to provide the following documents:

• A statement from a doctor about the need for the passenger to use oxygen for medical purposes during the flight (MEDIF or FREMEC form);
• Information about the type, manufacturer, weight and dimensions of the oxygen apparatus;
• Safety data sheet or other equivalent document for the oxygen apparatus.

For your comfort and safety, please take care of a sufficient number of batteries — they should be enough for the duration of the flight, transfers, as well as unexpected delays.

You can carry personal cylinders with gaseous oxygen or air (exclusively for medical purposes) in your carry-on baggage or in the baggage compartment in an amount sufficient for the flight, weighing up to 5 kg gross each, by prior agreement with the airline. If there are any cylinders, valves and regulators, please make sure that they are protected from damage to prevent spontaneous leakage of contents. Liquid oxygen cylinders or compressed gas are prohibited for carriage by air.

The use of the oxygen kit during takeoff and landing is prohibited.

Traveling is always a bright emotion. Twice as bright when you are expecting a miracle. We will do everything, for our part, to ensure that your flight goes smoothly and safely, but it is important to remember that the body of a pregnant woman reacts more sensitively to overload, stress, pressure and climate changes.

We care about you, therefore, before booking a ticket, please consult with your doctor about the possibility of a safe flight.

If you are more than 28 weeks pregnant, we recommend you to provide a doctor's statement with information about your pregnancy and whether it is single or multiple.

The medical certificate must be dated at most 5 days prior to the departure date of your flight.

We also pay your attention to the fact that the medical certificate must contain the phrase: "Fit to fly by air carriage".

Additionally we recommend you indicate in the certificate the period of traveling during which you can fly by plane.

The certificate must be on the letterhead of a medical institution or doctor`s with the full name of the doctor and his signature.

If you are traveling on a domestic flight within Ukraine, the certificate must be provided in Ukrainian or English.

If you are traveling abroad, the certificate must be only in English.

At check-in we will give you and ask you to fill the Expectant Mother Form before your flight.

Please remember that in the rules of different countries there are clear periods of pregnancy when you can fly without restrictions, the periods when you can fly only with the permission of the doctor, and the periods when flying is prohibited.

The rules of our airline allow women to travel on board the aircraft, if the pregnancy does not exceed 35 weeks, and 32 weeks in case of the multiple pregnancy.

The first flight of a baby is a small celebration for us. We will give all our attention and care to both the baby and the mother so that you feel calm. Your safety is our top priority, so we ask you to wait at least 7 days after birth before flying, as it is not recommended to transport women shortly after labour and newborns in the first 7 days after birth.

One adult passenger can fly with only one infant. If you are traveling with two infants, there must also be two adults. It is the passenger's sole responsibility to ensure that the infant is properly cared for.

According to the location of the oxygen masks on the plane, only one adult and an infant can sit in the same row. In this case, please note that infant must sit in the arms of an adult during takeoff and landing.

If you want your infant to travel in a separate seat near you, you need to purchase the Extra seat service. Infant can be placed in a separate seat under the following conditions:

• the presence of a certified car seat intended for flights is mandatory;
• the sizes of the certified car seat should not exceed 42х42 cm;
• the adjacent seat must accommodate an adult passenger over 18 years of age, who can physically place the car seat with infant and secure it accordingly;
• due to the specifics of placing oxygen masks for infants on the Boeing-737, a separate seat for infants should be purchased near the porthole.

Important! Infant cannot travel in a separate seat in the first row, in the emergency row, as well as in the rows before and behind the emergency row. One adult passenger can travel in one row with only one infant in a certified car seat.

At the airport, at the check-in counter and the gate, the airline staff will be sure to check the presence of certification marks on the car seat. If the car seat is not certified or has significant damage, we will not be able to take it on board the aircraft. In this case, the infant will travel in the arms of one of the parents.

In order to comply with the safety requirements established by international law and the legislation of Ukraine, we may refuse a person with a disability or limited mobility to confirm a booking, board an aircraft, or require that such person be accompanied by another person who is able to provide him/her with the necessary assistance.

We will also be forced to refuse a passenger with special needs if his/her transportation or boarding is not possible due to the size of the aircraft or its doors.
