At the end of September, SkyUp Airlines, which for the first time in the history of Ukraine launched direct regular flights to Saudi Arabia, plans to complete the summer flight programme for this destination.
In June, we started operating the first charter flights from Al-Qasim to Lviv, and already in early August we launched a large-scale regular flight programme from Kyiv to Dammam, Riyadh, and Jeddah, as well as from Lviv to Dammam.
The complete opening of the destination became possible for us thanks to the joint efforts of the State Aviation Service, the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Ukraine and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and State Agency for Tourism Development.
During the entire period of summer navigation, we performed 34 flights from Saudi Arabia to Ukraine, with which 2,788 people arrived. And 35 flights were operated to Saudi Arabia to transport 3,292 passengers.
Not long before the opening of this completely new not only for the airline, but also for our country destination, we updated the onboard menu, including the addition of the Muslim SkyBox diet.
"Our mission is to open the world to Ukrainians, and open Ukraine to the world. We are sincerely grateful and proud of the trust given to us to represent Ukraine in a completely new little-known corner of the world and to help open our country to the citizens of Saudi Arabia", says Dmytro Seroukhov, CEO of SkyUp Airlines. “Saudi Arabia, together with other Arabian Gulf countries, is one of the priority vectors for the development of inbound tourism in Ukraine, so next year we plan to at least resume the flight programme for this destination, and in the futurу, to expand it.”
