Carry-on baggage and baggage

Hand luggage:

General rules

On SkyUp flights, carry-on baggage is included in the cost of your ticket, depending on the selected fare:


  • Charter fare - free piece of carry-on baggage up to 8 kg, dimensions - 55x45x25 cm, the second piece of carry-on baggage for an additional fee up to 8 kg, dimensions - 55x45x25 cm.The cost of the second piece of carry-on baggage for charter flights will be 12€ when contacting customer support or through the official website, agent module and chat bot, at the airport the cost is 20€.

All additional items that you want to take in the cabin in excess of the hand luggage allowance provided by your fare (for example, outerwear, umbrella, laptop, Duty Free goods, etc.) must be packed either in your hand luggage or paid as its separate unit.


Passengers traveling with an infant can take into the cabin 1 bag with food and things that the baby needs during the flight, weighing up to 5 kg and measuring 55х45х25 cm.

Carry-on baggage for passengers with reduced mobility

Passengers with disabilities can take the auxiliary equipment they need during the flight into the aircraft cabin: a folding wheelchair, cane, crutches, walkers, etc. If you need medicines on board during the flight, please, agree on the possibility of their transportation with the airline.

Liquids

You can carry liquids, suspensions, creams, pastes in your carry-on baggage in an amount not exceeding 100 ml per item. Liquid in packages with a volume of more than 100 ml, even if the container is partially filled, is not allowed for carriage in the cabin. The total volume of such substances in carry-on baggage, packed in containers of 100 ml (grams), must not exceed 1 liter (kg) per passenger.


Large volumes should be carried in checked baggage.


Without limitation in volume, the following are allowed for carriage:

  • liquids for use while traveling for medical reasons;
  • baby food, including milk and other products (in case that child is also traveling);
  • foods / liquids for dietary needs (which are necessary for the health of the passenger, or special meals for passengers who do not accept foods containing gluten or lactose).

The need for such substances during travel must be confirmed with appropriate documents.


Substances that are not drugs but are used for medical purposes (blood, ice for transplantation, etc.) may be accepted for carriage if their use is medically confirmed.

Electronic cigarettes, tobacco heating systems, vapes

For safety reasons, electronic cigarettes/tobacco heating systems/vapes are allowed on board our aircraft only in carry-on baggage. Please note that some countries do not allow their import and use.

The passenger is allowed to have up to 1 liter of vape liquid, packaged in bottles of no more than 100 ml. Vials should be wrapped in a tight bag.


Note! Using or charging electronic cigarettes/tobacco heating systems/vapes on board or near the aircraft is prohibited.

Items prohibited for transportation in carry-on baggage

  • real, fake or toy weapons;
  • sharp objects: knives, razors, scissors, etc;
  • nail files/nail clippers;
  • injection needles (allowed if there is a medical document confirming the need for their use);
  • baseball bats, golf clubs, maces and batons;
  • knitting needles, corkscrews, spoons/forks;
  • pressurized containers, including shaving foams, styling foams and other foams or deodorants and hairsprays.

Transportation of sports equipment

A piece of sports equipment is considered a separate piece of baggage and is carried at an additional cost.

All sports equipment carried on board the aircraft must be properly packed in special cases or sturdy cardboard boxes to prevent damage to the equipment itself or other baggage. All protruding parts that can be removed, as well as removable batteries, we recommend to remove and pack separately.


Important!Do not pack personal items in the sports equipment bag.


Some of our aircraft types are not designed to carry non-standard size sports equipment (e.g. canoes, tandem bicycles, etc.), so we recommend that you clarify the details when booking by writing to [email protected]. Equipment of non-standard sizes can be transported on cargo flights.

Bicycles

So that the bike does not take up much space and is convenient to move, we recommend folding the handlebars longitudinally, lowering the seat to the lowest bar, and removing the pedals and all protruding parts. Bicycles must be packed in a nylon sack with the wheels and pedals with deflated tyres.


Electric bikes can be transported provided that the battery is removed (if the battery is removable, it must only be transported in carry-on baggage and its capacity must not exceed 70 watts).


Important! Oversized bicycles (tandem bikes) can only be transported on cargo flights.

Equipment for skiing, snowboarding, mountaineering

One set of ski equipment includes a pair of skis, two ski poles, a pair of ski boots and a ski helmet or one snowboard, a pair of boots and a helmet..

Climbing equipment includes a mountain backpack, a pair of poles, an ice ax and a pair of climbing boots.

Golf equipment

Golf equipment includes a golf club, a golf ball, a pair of gloves, a ball tag and a golf bag. Golf clubs must be securely attached inside the bag so that they do not cause inconvenience or harm during loading, transport and unloading.

Diving equipment

Diving equipment consists of one diving suit, buoyancy compensator vest, mask, fins, underwater flashlight, knife, snorkel, harpoon, diving socks, cylinder and regulator.


  • The cylinders must be empty. The indicator should show a value of 0, the valve should be open or removed;
  • Air must be deflated from the compensator vest;
  • The harpoon is accepted for transportation in a special case or proper packaging. It must be disassembled and handpieces packed separately;
  • The diving lantern can be carried in checked baggage as well as in carry-on baggage, provided that the electric lamp and battery are disconnected and packed separately to prevent activation. The battery must be protected against short circuit.

Hockey equipment

Hockey equipment consists of a helmet, a pair of skates, a stick, a ball (puck or lacrosse ball) and a set of protective equipment (for shoulders, arms, knees, etc.).

Equipment for hiking, fishing

Hiking equipment includes one tent with arches and related equipment.

Fishing equipment includes a fishing rod, spinning reel, bucket, a pair of boots and a bag for fishing tackle.

Inline skates, skateboards and scooters

You can carry one bag with a pair of rollerblades, a skateboard or scooter with a set of protective equipment (knee pads, elbow pads, etc.) and a helmet.

It is allowed to transport equipment without engines.

Personal mobility aids such as hoverboards, airwheels and mini-segways are not permitted in checked or carry-on baggage.

Bowling, tennis, squash and badminton equipment

Bowling equipment consists of a bag of balls and one pair of shoes. For tennis, squash and badminton — a set of rackets and balls in a bag.

Surfing, windsurfing, kiteboarding and bodyboarding equipment

Equipment consisting of a board and / or a parachute.

Windsurfing equipment: board, boom, leech, mast and sail rolled together. One passenger is allowed to carry only one set of equipment.

Hang gliders, paragliding and parachuting equipment

Hang glider, parachute equipment, paraglider must be transported in a single package, the total dimensions of which do not exceed 330 cm. Paragliders with a motor are not accepted for carriage.

Rafting equipment, canoes

The canoe equipment includes one canoe and a set of oars. The maximum length of a canoe should not exceed 330 cm in the sum of measurements. Canoes of non-standard sizes can be transported on cargo flights.

Rafting equipment includes one deflated inflatable boat, one rowing set and one pump.

The carriage of pneumatic inflatable devices, devices with a motor or electrical components is prohibited.



Quadcopter transportation

Take your flying friend with you to capture the highlights of your trip.


The quadcopter can be transported in checked baggage. In case it has a battery, you must remove it to the carry-on baggage.
Please note, not all countries allow you to import a quadcopter, so we recommend you to check in advance the rules for entering the country to which you are planning a flight.


Carriage of car seats

If you wish to transport the child car seat as checked baggage, you need to check it in at the airport.

Please note the car seat is considered a separate piece of checked baggage. Carriage of it in the baggage hold is subject to payment if you already have a piece of checked baggage.

You can carry your car seat for free, instead of your main checked baggage.

It is transported within the norms of transportation, value is the responsibility of the insurance company.

Lost or Damaged baggage

Finding lost baggage

If your baggage doesn’t arrive at your destination, please contact the airport Baggage Service Lost & Found office before passing through Customs control and complete a Property Irregularity Report (PIR). You will receive a copy of your PIR, information about terms and conditions of baggage tracing.

PIR performed after you leave the customs zones cannot be accepted by SkyUp as evidence of damage to property.

If your luggage was not found within five days, please make a list of lost items (quantity, description, manufactures, etc.) and send them to [email protected]. Please include your PIR number in the subject line of your message.

Baggage tracing is conducted for 21 days. As soon as your luggage is found, we will contact and inform you about the delivery.


Forgotten things

If you accidentally left or forgot your belongings on board the aircraft or at the airport, you need to contact the airport Lost & Found service, where your belongings were left.

Claiming for lost/delayed baggage

Claims for lost baggage will be accepted if the luggage was not found within 21 days.

To apply for lost/damage baggage claim send an email at [email protected]. All required documents confirming the passenger’s right to claim compensation must be attached to the claim, such as: ticket or route/receipt, fiscal checks for services, payment receipt for excess baggage, baggage tags, PIR, references about delays and other documents which could help speed up the claim.

Missing or damaged baggage content

If you find damaged baggage or missing contents, please contact Lost & Found Baggage Services immediately and fill out a Damage and Pilferage Report (DPR) before going through Customs control.

You can send your claim regarding your missing or damaged baggage content by email [email protected].

The missing or damaged baggage content claim shall be filed no later than 7 days from the date of the baggage collecting. All necessary documents that confirm the passenger’s right to claim compensation and can reduce the time of application processing, must be attached to the claim (ticket or route/receipt, fiscal checks for services, payment receipt for excess baggage, baggage tags, Damaged or Pilferage Report and other documents that could help speed up the claim settlement).

Consideration of claims

According to current regulations, the airline must consider the claim and notify the claimant about its satisfaction or rejection within 3 months from the date of its receipt.

In any case, the airline will do its best to reduce the time to consider your application.
