From airport to the city

You can get by train from the airport to Tel Aviv, which is 19 km away (from the station at the airport, $ 4.4 per ticket). Also, you can go by bus (at the stop close to the gates 21 and 23 of Terminal 3, take the free shuttle No. 5 to the Airport City stop, and then change to the route in the direction you want); by minibus ($ 10-13, they run 24/7 and stop anywhere on the way on demand); or by taxi (≈$40–60).

Transport

Interesting historical places

To understand the city, visit its oldest part – Yafo area with narrow streets, waterfront, and antique shops. Also, visit the monastery of St. Nicholas of 1654 and find the famous orange tree in a hanging pot, symbolizing people without roots.

Walk to the sea along the largest park, Yarkon. Also, enjoy the Neve Tzedek area with cozy restaurants, the square, old houses, and the theater. And if you like museums, visit the Museum of the Jewish People and the Eretz Israel Museum. In the latter, you will hear about the history of different cultures of the country.

And don't forget to climb to the observation deck of one of the three skyscrapers at Azrieli Center.

Israel is famous for the large portions at the establishments. We advise you to try falafel (balls of chickpea puree, fried in oil, can be wrapped in pita bread with vegetables), hamin or cholent (stewed potatoes with meat and chickpeas), hummus (sesame paste and chickpea mash), vorschmack (herring with onions and apples), grilled fish and fresh pomegranate juice.
