Transport

Buses ply Thessaloniki, a ticket costs € 1 per trip or € 1.2 per trip with one transfer (no more than 70 minutes). There are also longer-term tickets with more transfers.

Interesting historical places

Lazy rest by the sea, boat and yacht trips, and soft drinks on the coastal terraces are essential elements of the tourist program. However, it's better not to limit yourself to this and devote some time to the city itself. For example, take a walk through the old district of Ano Poli, i.e., the Upper City, which pleases the eye with harmoniously combined colors.

After a cozy walk, you can go to the White Tower, the foundation of which was laid by the Turks in the 15th century. Here, you can visit the Museum of Byzantine Culture and go up to the observation deck. The archaeological museum, which stores a considerable collection of Macedonian gold and jewelry, is also worthy of attention.

Finally, you can "visit" one of the most prominent Greek philosophers, Aristotle. The Greeks say that if you rub the finger of the monument in the square of the same name, you can become wiser. And although this is not proven, the square adjacent to the sea is definitely worth attention due to its size and sea breeze.

In Thessaloniki, first of all, we recommend you enjoy the variety of Greek cuisine. In particular, many seafood dishes (what are the mussels saganaki and grilled octopus worth!), Greek salad, souvlaki, moussaka, pastitsio, etc.
