We open Ukraine to the world: SkyUp brings the first tourists from Saudi Arabia

On 20 June, Lviv International Airport welcomed the first SkyUp charter aircraft from Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia. It is expected that this flight will launch a number of planned flights by the airline from the Arabian Gulf countries to Ukraine.

An important step towards attracting tourists from countries such as Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, and others was the visa liberalization adopted by the presidential decree last year. According to the Head of the State Agency for Tourism Development Maryana Oleskiv, the countries of the Arabian Gulf, together with the Central Asia region, are priority areas for the development of inbound tourism in Ukraine.

We’re sincerely grateful to the Embassy of Saudi Arabia in Ukraine and the Embassy of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, as well as to the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and State Aviation Services of both countries for actively promoting the implementation of the tourist potential and deepening partnerships between Saudi Arabia and Ukraine, including for the efforts made to organize SkyUp Al-Qassim — Lviv flight.
