How to move

The airport is located along the city, so you will have a great choice of transport:

— Bus. Look for route No.470 near Terminal C. They run every hour and the ticket costs around €2.70*.

— Train. Look for the S5 line and in 20 minutes you will reach the city. The ticket costs €5*, and the stop is also located near Terminal C.

— Taxi. The pleasure is not cheap. A trip to the city center will cost you from €35* to €50*.

The city itself has a very extensive public transport system. Trams are the most popular. They run every 2-10 minutes and help you get anywhere in Hannover.

What to see

Head to the Old Town. Then look down and try to find the red thread: it connects the 47 most important historical sites of Hannover.

Be sure to take a walk along the pedestrian shopping railway station street . An underground shopping arcade is arranged under it.

Also walk to the New Town Hall. The building in the Renaissance style is definitely worth a look.

To the south of the town hall, next to the Laine river, is the artificial lake Maschsee. If you walk, it will take about 20 minutes. Around the lake there are many restaurants, cafes, bathing establishments with beaches.

Visit the Herrenhausen Garten park. It is the only in Germany that has survived almost unchanged since the early Baroque era. The real Versailles of Hannover. The local fountain with an 82-meter jet is the tallest in Europe.

And don't forget to go to the European Cheese Center in the Anderten area. It proudly calls itself the only scientific center for the study of cheese in Europe.

Eat

Traditional German. As well as Italian, Peruvian, Chinese, and any other cuisine.

The average check in a decent restaurant for one person will be about €40*. A quick snack with coffee will cost around €5-6*.

Explore (things to see out of the city)

Hildesheim — located 25 km from the city. Here is preserved the authentic medieval architecture and a very beautiful Market Square.

Celle — 35 km from Hannover. It is worth going here to see firsthand the castle, built in the distant 1292.
