How to get

The airport is located 15 kilometers away from the capital, so you have several transport alternatives:

— Bus. Look for a stop with blue and white RODA buses near the terminal. They run from 6:30 am to 11:40 pm every 10-15 minutes. The fare is €2.5* per person. The ticket can be purchased from the driver or at the airport ticket office.

— Taxi. The tariff for all services is the same — €1.5* per kilometer. A trip to the center will cost about €30*. From 00:00 am to 6:00 am the night rate is valid — €2* per kilometer.

— Transfer. Estimated cost is €40*. And as a bonus, you don't have to pay extra if the plane is suddenly delayed.

— Rented car. The rental price starts from €35* per day.

What to see

Rhodes is a real Mediterranean home for medieval knights. And we are very lucky that this house has preserved the most important architectural monuments to this day. Here is an indicative list of important locations in the city:

A full lunch at a local tavern will cost €15*, and a quick snack can be found for €5-6*.

Explore (things to see out of the city)

— From June to September you can visit the Valley of the Butterflies. The uniqueness of this part of the island is that its entire landscape is covered with butterflies. And if you have extra time, stop by the ostrich farm.

— Acropolis and Rodini Park. It is considered the oldest landscape park in the world and one of the main attractions of the island. Parts of the Roman aqueducts have been preserved on its territory. Centuries-old cypresses and pines grow here.

— Anthony Quinn Bay. The best Instagram spot. The bay is one of the most picturesque places at Rhodes.

— Cape Prasonisi. The cape is located in the southernmost part of the island and is connected to Rhodes by a narrow sandy isthmus. In winter, the waters of the Aegean and Mediterranean seas cover this passage, and in summer is forms a beautiful sandy spit, that is, a full-fledged beach.

Accommodation

A five-star hotel room will cost around €90* per night. Breakfasts and dinners are already included in the price. Apartments in the city center can be rented for €50*, but you will have to cook yourself.

The most budget option is a bed in a hostel. It will cost you €15-20*.
