SkyUp Airlines is currently refunding passengers for cancelled flights due to the full-scale war. As of December 2023, the airline has already refunded UAH17,5 million and continues refunding every day.
The full-scale invasion in February 2022 was a tragedy for the entire country, and for civil aviation, it meant the cancelation of all flights. In such conditions, airlines had to make a difficult choice: either stop operations due to force majeure or attempt to find new markets and work formats. SkyUp Airlines has chosen the latter.
We had to start not even from the beginning, but from a negative position because the flights stopped, but the obligations did not. Despite this, the airline continued to pay taxes and fees to help the country's economy keep going in difficult times. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, SkyUp Airlines has paid more than UAH 280 million in taxes.
SkyUp Airlines has been able to stay operational and continues to operate flights ordered by other airlines under ACMI contracts. However, this significantly limits the capabilities and resources.
Despite the challenges, SkyUp Airlines is committed to remaining a reliable partner and a responsible business. Thus, we appreciate the trust of the passengers, who understand the extremely difficult situation in the industry. The refund process is ongoing and is gradually gaining momentum.
Obtaining the necessary certifications opens us new prospects in the US and Canadian airspaces, as well as the launch of the airline in the EU will pave the way for new contracts and gaining more resources for passenger payments.
