How to move

The airport is located 15 kilometers from the city. And it is the busiest airport in all of Croatia.

You have the following transportation alternatives:

— Bus. At the exit from the airport, look for  Atlas carrier shuttles. The trip will last 30 minutes. The ticket costs about €6*, and you can buy it from the driver or in a special machine. Supplement for luggage — €1.5*.

— City buses № 11, 27, 28. Run more often, but the journey will take about 45-50 minutes. The ticket costs about €4* and can be purchased from the driver.

— Taxi. Car parking is located at the airport. The cost must be agreed in advance with the driver. The minimum fare for a trip to the center starts from €35*.

What to see

We recommend that you start exploring the panorama on Mount Srdj. There is a special observation deck: you can see all the orange roofs of the Old Town.

— Stradun is the central street of Dubrovnik, which is considered one of the most picturesque pedestrian streets in Europe. Its history began in 1468.

— Lodge Square is one of the central squares of Dubrovnik in the Venetian style.

— The Cathedral of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is a grand Baroque cathedral of the 18th century designed by the Roman architect Andrea Buffalini.

— Pile Gate — the famous city gate in the Renaissance style, built in 1537 and was the main entrance to the city.

— Fort St. John is a fortification on the eastern edge of the old city, one of its most important protective structures.

— Lovrienac is an impregnable medieval fortress located on a 37-meter cliff near the western wall.

— The Franciscan monastery is a 14th century abbey with the oldest pharmacy in Europe.

This popular city is not the place to rely on affordable food. However, you can find a snack for €8-10*. A full lunch for two will cost from €27*.

We recommend choosing local taverns: the prices are lower there, while the portions are large.

Of course the neighboring islands:

— Lokrum. 10 minutes by sea — and you walk through the island gardens.

— Korcula to enjoy the best Croatian beaches.

— Cavtat, because it is even older than Dubrovnik.

And also Mljet National Park. This is a state protected area with many natural beauties and diverse fauna.
