SkyUp™ is expanding its fleet by leasing another Boeing 737-800. Manufactured in May 2010, the aircraft has been officially inducted into the airline's Ukrainian division under the registration number UR-SQN.
”Expanding our fleet is a significant milestone in the development of SkyUp Airlines™, enabling us to further optimize our business model and enhance travel opportunities for our passengers. We take great pride in the fact that this aircraft is registered in Ukraine, as it strengthens the involvement of Ukrainian aviation professionals and supports our national aviation sector. Moreover, it is another aircraft that will take to the skies with the Ukrainian flag. We once again confirm to ourselves and our partners that SkyUp™ is a reliable and dynamic player in the global aviation industry,” said Dmytro Sieroukhov, CEO of SkyUp Airlines.
New aircraft: specifications and plans
Since the SkyUp Airlines™ fleet consists of Boeing 737-800 and Boeing 737-700 aircraft, adding another aircraft of this type aligns with the airline's current development strategy.
After undergoing technical maintenance, during which the SkyUp Airlines™ team will upgrade the cabin with modern ergonomic seats from the Italian manufacturer Geven, this model will have 189 seats, making it optimal for scheduled flights as it combines capacity, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
Additionally, as soon as the aircraft is received, during the spring of 2025, it will be repainted in the airline’s signature livery. According to preliminary plans, it will begin operating flights no earlier than June 2025.
